From Burnout and Breakdown to Brain-Body Healing: Why I Do What I Do

After 13 years in the Australian Army, I came out physically broken — and mentally exhausted.

My body had taken a battering, but so had my mind. I was burnt out, disconnected, and stuck in a constant state of stress. No matter how much I pushed through, I never really felt “okay.”

As a wife and mum to two young boys, I knew something had to change. I didn’t want to keep surviving. I wanted to feel calm, strong, and present — for myself, and for my family.

That’s what led me into the world of bodywork. I started with Remedial Massage, and later completed my Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy. I learned hands-on skills, dry needling, rehabilitation techniques, and pain management strategies that helped many clients feel better in their bodies.

But I quickly realised something:
Relief didn’t always last.
People kept coming back with the same issues — pain, tension, fatigue, anxiety.
And I was still feeling some of those same things too.

Then I discovered functional neurology — and everything shifted.

This work goes deeper. It looks at how the brain and nervous system drive every movement, every emotion, every pain signal. It gets to the core of why we feel the way we do — and how to reset those patterns for lasting change.

For the first time in years, I felt like myself again. I could handle stress. I had energy. I was more patient with my kids. Less reactive. More grounded.
And I knew I had to share this with others.

Now, I combine my background in massage and myotherapy with functional neuro techniques to support women, men and children with nervous system dysregulation, pain, overwhelm, and behavioural challenges.

Because when the brain is working with the body, not against it — that’s when real healing begins.

If you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, I’d love to help you find the calm, connection and clarity you’ve been missing.
